With over 35 years of experience in preclinical spine surgery and orthopedic research, Dr. Bryan Cunningham brings unmatched procedural expertise, model development capabilities, and strategic insight to the Endpoint Expert Network.
Endpoint Preclinical is proud to welcome Dr. Bryan Cunningham, PhD, to our team. A world-renowned spinal surgeon and preclinical strategist, Bryan has translated orthopedic innovations from concept to clinic through more than 8,000 operative procedures and over 135 peer-reviewed publications. At Endpoint, Bryan will apply his deep procedural knowledge and research leadership to shape end-to-end programs that align sponsors’ device goals with regulatory requirements and clinical realities. His work will strengthen our capabilities across orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, and model development, where his designs for fusion, motion preservation, and biomaterial testing remain foundational to the field. Bryan will also contribute to Endpoint’s growing support for interventional and minimally invasive surgery, MRI data analysis and Interpretation, and customized training services, ensuring high-performance execution and knowledge transfer for research teams around the world.
Bryan’s legacy includes creating the ASTM F1717 Corpectomy Model, co-developing the FDA-adopted epidural wear-debris model, and leading over 100 GLP studies. His biomechanical expertise, coupled with imaging modalities like fluoroscopy, micro-CT, radiography, and MRI, enables advanced evaluation of fusion, motion, and implant integration. As an advisor to FDA Q-Sub and panel meetings and an active member of NASS, ORS, SRS, and Eurospine, Bryan continues to shape policy and practice at the interface of innovation and safety.
