Technical Expertise

Eric has performed and optimized a wide range of neurosurgical and complex procedures, including:

  • Intrathecal and Intracerebroventricular (ICV) Catheterizations: Precision catheter placement for targeted drug delivery and CSF collection.
  • Intraparenchymal Delivery and MRI-Guided Techniques: Procedures for localized therapeutic administration and imaging-assisted surgical accuracy.
  • Dual Catheter Systems: Installation for simultaneous drug delivery and physiological monitoring.
  • Bile Duct Cannulation: Specialized techniques for pharmacokinetic studies and targeted delivery applications.

His work also includes the development and use of specialized equipment, such as stereotaxic frames, for simultaneous targeting of multiple surgical sites to improve efficiency and outcomes.

Data Collection and Analysis

Eric has substantial experience in physiological monitoring and advanced data analysis, particularly in studies involving CNS disorders. His contributions include:

  • MRI Segmentation and Volume Distribution: Mapping delivery systems for targeted CNS interventions.
  • Intracranial Pressure (ICP) Monitoring: Analysis of dose volumes and delivery rates to optimize study outcomes.
  • Catheter Patency and Long-Term Studies: Ensuring the integrity of surgical systems and data reliability over extended study durations.

He has also supported studies requiring complex datasets for regulatory submissions and report generation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards.

Teaching and Training

Eric has trained researchers and technical staff in a variety of surgical procedures, emphasizing precision, ethical research practices, and the importance of maintaining high standards in experimental design and execution. Many of his trainees have achieved certifications from the Academy of Surgical Research, reflecting his emphasis on skill development and knowledge transfer.
