Endpoint Preclinical is proud to welcome Dr. Harriet Davidson, DVM, DACVO, to our Expert Network. A board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist, Harriet brings a unique blend of academic leadership, specialty clinical practice, and preclinical research experience. This breadth of expertise positions her as both a skilled diagnostician and a mentor for teams working in vision science and beyond. View Harriet’s profile.

“Harriet brings a valuable combination of academic, clinical, and regulatory experience to the network. Her ability to bridge those worlds means clients not only gain precise, GLP-compliant ophthalmic assessments, but also a partner who understands how to communicate results clearly and effectively to regulators. We’re thrilled to have her expertise available to our clients.” – Cole McLarty, CEO, Endpoint Preclinical

Harriet is deeply experienced in applying internationally recognized ocular scoring systems, including McDonald-Shadduck, Hackett-McDonald, and SPOTS classifications, ensuring findings are consistent and defensible. She combines these standardized approaches with advanced diagnostic tools such as slit-lamp biomicroscopy, indirect ophthalmoscopy, tonometry, and ocular photography. By integrating these methods within GLP frameworks, she ensures that ocular endpoints are collected, interpreted, and reported with the rigor needed to support pharmacology and toxicology programs.

Alongside her technical expertise, Harriet has consistently emphasized the importance of training and mentorship. She has designed and delivered educational programs for veterinary students, residents, and research staff, helping teams master the nuances of ophthalmic examinations. Her dedication to education reflects her broader philosophy: that well-trained personnel, sound methodology, and clear communication are the foundation of reliable, reproducible research.

“I’ve always believed that attention to detail and respect for the process are what make preclinical research meaningful,” says Harriet. “Joining the Endpoint network allows me to continue contributing that perspective while supporting teams who are committed to both scientific excellence and regulatory integrity.”
